Never did I imagine living in a small town again, but now I couldn't do life any other way. I grew up in rural Arkansas before attending college at Baylor University in Texas. After graduating with my accounting degree, I moved to Dallas to work.

I took to the big city and didn't look back - until I found myself moving back to a small town for my husband. And boy, I'm glad I did.

In our small town, I love having dinner with family and friends, watching the lightning bugs, letting the dogs out to play and attending church with my husband. When my kids leave the hustle and bustle of their own city lives, we have wonderful, peaceful visits.

Learn more about what inspires me

While my books are set in fictional Graisseville, LA, they are based on my life in Grand Cane, LA. Our community of about 300 people has helped inspire my work in many ways. From the characters to the descriptions of day-to-day life, much of my work comes from my love of my small town.
